Playful Prints for Spring

Woke up this morning feeling like I needed a change to my outfit. Ahem, thanks to the 60 degree weather in March! Naturally, resorting to my closet for some sort of inspiration, I found nothing. I rummaged through old attire I pushed away since last summer and found this old cheetah dress. It is so old but I absolutely love the playful, different prints. As soon as I put it on I knew it needed to go with some bursting bright colors to spruce it up and make it even more unique / out there. Low and behold the outfit of today’s choice, a turquoise chunky necklace with my cheetah dress and huge Illesteva sunglasses with blue lenses.

When summer ended last year, I told myself I was going to start just wearing all black everything. I don’t know why! I usually hate black on black and make fun of my friends for wearing it. “It’s sooooo New York. You’re just blending in,” my mom always used to say to me for wearing all black. I think a large part to it was my old job at Polo where I worked everyday in a uniform and absolutely hated it. I learned a lot as a stylist and sales associate, but I absolutely hated standing on my feet all day during the low hours of the day when there were no clients to style! I felt really negative, down, and angry toward the end of the job, so naturally I resorted to wearing all black everything. It went with my mood.

Recently, I’ve felt a change in me that I just can’t describe! THE WARMTH of Spring nearing is too exciting to begin to explain my comfort and sense of happiness for the warmer temperatures. I’ve realized that after being in New England and NYC since I was 7 years old, I absolutely am born to be in the hot temperatures. It’s in my blood! In South Africa, I had never even seen snow before moving to Boston. I can’t wait to just go to the beach, unwind, and relax. Vacation please!

LONG LIVE SPRING!
